| 1. Open Internet Explorer. From the main menu at the top of
the screen, click on Edit and scroll down to and select Options.
2. At the Options screen, click the News tab along the left side of the screen. Check the box next to Use Internet Config settings at the bottom of the screen. Now click on the IC Settings... button.
3. Make sure all the information is entered correctly on this screen. The NNTP Host should have news.maxinter.net filled in. Make sure your Username and Password are filled in correctly.
4. Once you have finished filling in the correct information, Quit Internet Config. If you are prompted to save these changes, click Save. 5. Once you are back at the Options screen, click OK. 6. Now click on the Envelope icon on the browser menu bar. This should launch Microsoft's Internet Mail & News software.
7. Once the Mail program is up, go to Edit at the top menu, scroll to and select Preferences.
8. Make sure all the information is entered correctly. The News Server address field should have news.maxinter.net filled in. Under the Server List, if news.amdyne.net does not show up, click on the Add button and AmDyne's server should appear. The boxes next to 'Gets news server info from "Internet Config"' and 'This server requires authentication' should not be checked! Click OK.
You are now ready to download and post to newsgroups. |
